The Masters Leaderboard

The Masters leaderboard is a fascinating and volatile place to be at Augusta National. Justin Rose led after two rounds, but a three-over 75 on Saturday saw him drop down to tie for sixth as Rory McIlroy surged to the top of the pack with an 11-under round.

DeChambeau is a shot back, but Corey Conners, who shot a five-under 66 on Saturday, and Ludvig Aberg are four shots behind him. Those are the only players within four shots of McIlroy and he has a big chance to win his first green jacket and complete a career Grand Slam.

McIlroy is playing some of the finest golf of his life, and his approach play is a big reason why. It’s little wonder that he leads the field in strokes gained around the greens this week.

After a double bogey at the 1st, McIlroy reclaimed the lead with birdies at the 2nd and 3rd. He bogeyed the par five 5th, but made an eagle at the 16th to move to 12-under and tee off for the final day with a share of the lead. A superb birdie putt at the 18th gives McIlroy an outstanding opportunity to win his first green jacket at The Masters.
