The US Open, or United States Tennis Championships, is a Grand Slam tennis tournament held each August in Queens, New York City. It is the fourth and final major of the year, following the Australian Open, French Open, and Wimbledon. It is played on outdoor hard courts at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.

It’s been a busy week for the tournament, with qualifiers playing from Monday through Thursday and the main draw getting underway Sunday. But the excitement has just begun. A number of interesting matches are scheduled to take place, including an intriguing quarterfinal matchup between No. 2 Ashleigh Barty and No. 8 Serena Williams. In addition, former No. 1s Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz are set to meet in a semifinal duel, a match that could provide the first-ever meeting between a pair of top-ranked men since their match at the 2024 Olympics — one which Djokovic won.

In the men’s draw, No. 3 Roger Federer is the favorite to win the tournament, but he’s facing a tough test from No. 5 Daniil Medvedev and No. 15 Bianca Andreescu, who both are seeking breakout performances after strong seasons. The tournament also features a trio of American players in No. 4 Simona Halep, No. 8 Serena Williams, and No. 22 Victoria Mboko.

This year’s tournament has been extended to two weeks, with a longer schedule that gives fans more opportunities to attend matches, and provides players with additional rest between rounds. Check out the full schedule of matches here.
